Make Plans To Attend The 2018 Harvest Festival And Livestock Show

Livestock Show

The countdown has officially begun. It’s almost time for the 2018 Harvest Festival and Livestock Show. It’ll be on Oct. 24–27 at the Longview Fairgrounds, and it’ll have all the fun and livestock you could possibly want. Mark your calendars and prepare to attend this popular annual festival.

The Livestock

When you walk onto the fairgrounds, you will see just about every type of poultry and livestock you can imagine. There’ll be sheep, cattle, and more. Attend the Jr. Livestock Show, so you can see it all. It’s amazing how much these kids know about livestock. They might even be able to teach you a thing or two. If they do, don’t be embarrassed. These kids are truly exceptional.

The Competitions

The festival will have three days of competition, where students will be tested on everything from home economics to AG mechanic skills. You might come for the livestock, but you’ll be really impressed by the AG mechanics. Students actually build their own gates, farm items, and trailers for the show, and they’re judged on their abilities. If you have any interest in agriculture, this is a must see. Again, these kids will blow you away.

The Scholarships

The show is all for a good cause. The Harvest Festival and Livestock Show actually provides scholarships for standout FFA and 4-H members. The biggest of those scholarships is the 4-year Albert Horaney Memorial Scholarship. This $10,000 scholarship can really make a difference in a student’s life.

You’ll love your time at the festival, and when it’s over, you’ll want to go on to the next event. That’s easy to do when you get a new ride from Toyota of Longview in Longview, Texas. With your new wheels underneath you, you will be ready to explore Texas and beyond.
